The 2nd Floor Rural Health Clinic Expansion was the main topic of discussion for the Newman Regional Health Board of Trustees Meeting Wednesday.
The space which is in the Medical Office Building currently houses specialty clinics for out-of-town physicians. Newman Regional Health CEO Bob Wright says this space will be made into a primary care clinic.
He added with the addition of several new physicians, both currently and in the future, they’ve run out of space on the third floor and the expansion effort is extending to the second floor.
Wright explained the construction timetable.
The expansion cost for the project is $650,000 which will come out of the NRH’s capital budget.
The board of trustees also received a report on September’s financial highlights. Wright says they were about $500,000 ahead of budget. Also, the board received a report on the use of the robotics system.
The NRH Board of Trustees next meeting will be on Nov. 30.
