SOS has received significant grant funding over the past two months, and the latest round was announced this week.
SOS is receiving nearly $600,000 to help crime victims as announced by the Office of the Kansas Governor. Funding comes through the federal Victims of Crime Act and will be used to support direct services like court advocacy, criminal justice support, crisis counseling, forensic interviews, shelter, transportation and traditional housing.
This follows over $50,000 in grant funding through the federal Family Violence Prevention and Services Act and Federal State Access and Visitation Program, announced two-plus weeks ago. It also follows over $285,000 as announced by the governor’s office and another $125,000 from the Office of the Kansas Attorney General last month.
