A comprehensive facilities study is coming next year for USD 251 North Lyon County.
During a special work session Wednesday evening the Board of Education unanimously approved a school facilities study to begin in January of next year. The study will seek to improve student achievement, recruit, develop and retain quality staff, engage and involve all district stakeholders and manage school district budget and resources effectively.
USD 251 Superintendent Bob Blair says the survey will assist with long-term strategic planning.
The survey will be conducted by Dr. G. Kent Stewart of Manhattan. Stewart is a retired professor of education at Kansas State University who brings more than 50-years of experience as a school board consultant to the table.
The survey is expected to conclude by April 2023 at a cost not to exceed $2,3000.
