Reported COVID-19 cases in Lyon County have been in a range of 20-50 a week now for over a month, and that trend continued Wednesday.
Lyon County Public Health announced 31 new cases, up from 21 new cases each of the previous two weeks and down from the 51 cases reported Oct. 12. One death was added, putting Lyon County’s total now at 129.
Lyon County is now at 11,617 cases since the pandemic started, easily the highest in the KVOE listening area. Osage County is second with over 4,500 cases. Coffey County has almost 2,700 cases and Greenwood County recently passed 2,000 total cases. Chase County has the area low with 758 cases.
Transmission rates are low for all area counties, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
