The Emporia State football team wraps up their regular season Saturday when they host Northwest Missouri State. The Hornets and Bearcats are tied for 2nd place in the MIAA standings at 8-2.
The Hornets are riding a 6 game-winning streak. Coach Garin Higgins says they are playing at a high level.
Coach Higgins says Northwest is also playing well.
Both teams are on the outside looking in, in the regional rankings with Emporia State ranked 9th and Northwest 10th. The top 7 teams advance to the playoffs. The winner of Saturday’s game could still receive an at-large bid to the playoffs.
Kickoff Saturday at Welch Stadium is set for 1 pm.
