The Emporia State soccer team has advanced to the regional semi-finals with a 5-1 win over Fort Hays State Friday.
Mackenzie Dimarco scored 4 of the goals and had an assist on the other goal by Haley Sparks.
Mackenzie’s 4 goals tied an NCAA tournament single-match record.
Coach Bryan Sailer called it a complete team effort.
Emporia State scored their first goal in the 11th minute of play. Added the 2nd goal in the 19th minute of play. They would outshoot Fort Hays 8-4 on goal.
The Lady Hornets will play Central Missouri at 1 p.m. Sunday in Warrensburg, Missouri. Central Missouri defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State 5-0.
