The chance of light accumulating snowfall west and southwest of Emporia on Monday has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a winter weather advisory.
The advisory is for Chase County from 9 am to 6 pm Monday. Up to two inches of snow is expected.
Snow is expected to fall areawide, and the two inches possible for Chase County may well be the most area residents see with this system. Most area residents will see up to an inch, but those totals will likely be enough to cause slick road conditions on all area roads.

6:30 am Sunday: Light snowfall possible by Monday evening
Light snowfall is at least possible areawide Monday night.
Snow may begin by late afternoon and continue through the evening hours. Current indications are up to an inch of snowfall for most of the area, with up to two inches possible in southern Chase and western Greenwood counties.
After temperatures in the low 40s Sunday and Monday, the rest of the week looks to be cooler, with highs in the upper 30s through Thursday and upper 20s Friday.
