KVOE and Newman Regional Health are teaming up to offer you a chance to learn more about vaccines.
Newman Regional Health has organized a special town hall at the Flint Hills Technical College conference room Tuesday evening. Several guests will be part of the panel answering questions, including Newman Regional Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Alana Longwell, Newman Regional Health family medicine physician Dr. Jennifer Esau and Wichita infection diseases physician Dr. Valarie Creswell.
The format involves a 20-minute presentation from Dr. Creswell on adult vaccines, including flu, pneumonia and shingles, with conversation also expected on COVID-19, measles mumps rubella, meningitis, polio, tetanus and other illnesses, before a 30-minute question-and-answer session.
Vaccine effectiveness has come under increasing scrutiny the past two years after the advent of COVID-19.
The town hall is from 5:30-6:30 pm Tuesday and will air on 14 KVOE, 96.9 FM and KVOE.com. Residents can reserve their spot by calling 620-343-6800 extension 22110 or go online to newmanrh.org/vaccines.
