Emporia City Commissioners will be convening for a single action session Wednesday morning.
Items of note will include a public hearing on the intent to issue industrial revenue bonds for Fairview Hotels LLC. Following the hearing, commissioners may approve a resolution to issue said bonds which would be the first step in the process of bringing a Fairview Inn and Convention Center to Emporia.
The hotel would be located at the former Montana Mike’s restaurant at 3010 Eaglecrest Drive. Commissioners will also consider an ordinance prohibiting camping on public property and an assignment and assumption agreement with Emporia Friends of the Zoo and Mitchell Markowitz Construction for renovations at the Zoo Education Center, ownership of which was transferred from the zoo to the city of Emporia.
The meeting will begin at 10:30 am inside of the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
