Emporia High senior Elizabeth Willhite signed her letter of intent to continue her cross country and track and field career at Emporia State Wednesday.
Willhite says when she was in middle school, she had a choice to play either soccer or run cross country. She chose cross country and knew she had a future competing in the sport.
Willhite was a first-team All-Centennial League selection after finishing fifth at the league meet. She finished 31st at state and led the Spartans to an eighth place finish as a team.
