The Emporia State men’s basketball team held on for a 66-64 win over Rockhurst Wednesday night.
The Hornets jumped out to a 14-4 lead only to have Rockhurst rally to take a 33-30 lead at halftime.
The Hornets would take the lead for good with a 12-2 run in the 2nd half.
Coach Craig Doty said there was a lot to learn from the win.
Alijah Comithier led Emporia State with a game-high 20 points.
Mayuom Buom added 15 points.
Rockhurst was led by Rich Byhre with a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds.
With the win, the Emporia State men improve to 3-0. The Hornets play William Jewell in Liberty, Missouri on Friday night.
