Court proceedings will continue next year for a pair of individuals accused of involvement in the murder of Jesus Avila.
Jovan Pecina and Andrew Granado had separate appearances via Zoom before Judge Jeff Larson Friday afternoon. Pecina’s hearing was continued until May 11 at 9 am.
Granado waived his right to a speedy trial with defense counsel stating “an agreement was in place,” however, no plea has been entered. His status hearing was then continued until May 11 at 9:30 am.
Those hearings will follow a pretrial hearing for Samuel Garcia on May 4th. Several co-defendants in the case have pointed to Garcia as the gunman who shot Avila to death back in September of 2017.
