Status hearings are coming Friday afternoon for two defendants in the Jesus Avila murder case.
Andrew Granado and Jovan Pecina have back-to-back hearings, with Pecina appearing at 1:15 pm and Granado at 1:30 pm.
Both are facing charges including but not limited to first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, conspiracy and arson in Avila’s death in September 2017. They are among six defendants in the case. Alan Alanis has trial ahead in December or February, depending on court proceedings, and Armando Nunez is spending nearly four years in prison after pleading to lesser counts earlier this year. Samuel Garcia will be arraigned May 4. Jordy Cornejo-Campoverde has a status hearing in June.
