The Emporia State mens basketball team improved to 4-0 with a 67-57 win over William Jewell Friday night.
The Hornets trailed early before closing out the 1st half on a 17-7 run to take a 32-27 lead to the locker room.
In the 2nd half Emporia State built a 12 point lead only to have William Jewell go on a 12-0 run to tie the game at 44. The Hornets would close out the game on a 23-13 run to seal the win. They won it at the free-throw line making 23 of 28 attempts.
Coach Craig Doty liked the way they continued to attack.
The Hornets had 4 players score in double figures led by Alijah Comithier with 17 points. Owen Long added 14 points.
Atavian Butler added 11 points off the bench and Mayuom Buom finished with 10 points.
The Emporia State men will be off until Tuesday when they host Truman.
