Thick fog is hanging around a bit longer than first expected.
Chase County’s dense fog advisory has now been extended to 11 am, and Greenwood County has been added to the advisory until 11 am. Visibility could be a quarter-mile or less across parts of Chase and Greenwood counties and much of central and north-central Kansas on Thursday morning.
No other area counties are currently included, but isolated dense fog has already been noted in parts of Lyon, Coffey, Morris and Osage counties.

Dense fog is affecting travelers west of Emporia for the second straight morning.
A dense fog advisory involves Chase County until 9 am. Visibility could be a quarter-mile or less across parts of Chase County and much of central and north-central Kansas on Thursday morning. Pockets of thick fog are possible outside of the weather alert, and the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has reported 100-foot visibility along Interstate 35 between the Lyon-Coffey county line and BETO Junction around 7 am.
