The Emporia State womens basketball team defeated Colorado State Pueblo 65-45 in the CSU Pueblo Thanksgiving Classic Friday.
The Lady Hornets used a strong defensive effort, forcing 23 turnovers and holding the Thunderwolves to 32 percent shooting. The Lady Hornets would score 31 points off the turnovers. They also won the rebounding battle and were 16-21 from the free throw line.
Emporia State Coach Toby Wynn was pleased with the effort.
Tre’Zure Jobe led Emporia State in scoring with 18 points. Faith Paramore added 10 points. With the win the Emporia State women improve to 3-1. They will play Colorado Springs Colorado Saturday with tip-off at 2 pm. Coverage on MIX 104.9 begins at 1:35 pm.
