The Emporia State men’s basketball team jumped out to a 17-0 lead and cruised to a 110-66 win over St. Mary Tuesday.
Coach Craig Doty said it was a good way to close out non-conference play.
Sophomore Myuom Buom led the Hornets finishing with a new career-high 21 points.
With the win, the Hornets are now 6-0 to start the season. They will open MIAA play Saturday at Washburn.
The Hornets also broke into the National Coaches poll for Division II. They are ranked 23rd. They are 1 of 3 MIAA teams ranked. Northwest Missouri State is ranked number 1 and Central Oklahoma is ranked 7th.
