Dick’s Business Machines will now be moving under the umbrella of another business following the retirement of longtime owner Dick Rees.
Rees has owned the company since 1990 and tells KVOE News he felt like it was simply time to step back and enjoy the fruits of his labors. Rees says based on the response he received upon announcing his retirement he must have “been doing something right” for the last three decades.
The business will be staying local as it has now been absorbed into Heartland Office Systems. Roger Gould of Heartland says he was approached about purchasing the business and felt it was important to continue the legacy that Rees has built locally.
Rees is still in the process of clearing out items from the business and assisting with the turnover of management. He plans to be officially retired by the end of the calendar year.
Heartland has now taken over all operations of Dick’s and all calls to Dick’s Business Machines are now being redirected to Heartland.
