Newman Regional Health’s Cardiac Cath Lab has been noted for its level of care by the American College of Cardiology.
The ACC has announced accreditation for the hospital’s Cath Lab for PCI, also known as coronary angioplasty. It reflects the hospital’s use of minimally invasive procedures to open up vessels with minimal blood loss and/or heart damage. The ACC says its accreditation follows a “rigorous onsite evaluation of staff ability to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients.”
Newman Regional Health CEO Bob Wright says the hospital is the only one in Kansas with this accreditation. Wright also says the hospital spent 18 months preparing and surveying its own processes as part of the evaluation work.
