If you’re needing a COVID-19 vaccine, Newman Regional Health Medical Partners has announced a special schedule now underway until further notice.
Pfizer vaccines will be available Tuesdays, with Moderna vaccines available Thursdays. These will be available for anybody six months of age and older. They will also involve primary shots and the bivalent boosters, according to Newman Regional Health Medical Partners Vaccine Coordinator Cami McClellan.
Residents wanting COVID-19 vaccines through Newman Regional Health can sign up by using the hospital’s patient portal, going online to newmanrh.org/request-an-appointment or by calling 620-343-2376. Residents under age 18 will need a legal guardian’s consent.
In separate COVID news, the Federal Emergency Management Agency says state agencies, local governments, tribal nations and private nonprofits needing federal cost share funding for eligible COVID-related projects must apply by the end of the year. This would involve projects from Jan. 20, 2020, through this past July 1, but FEMA says the deadline for emergency projects to be completed after July 1 will remain open at this time.
Eligible agencies can call FEMA Public Assistance Officer Steve Harsha at 785-207-1561 or email stephen.harsha@ks.gov.
