The Kansas State football team won the Big 12 Football Championship. A field goal in overtime lifted the Wildcats to a 31-28 win over TCU Saturday.
Kansas State quarterback Will Howard threw two touchdown passes and scored a rushing touchdown to give the Wildcats a 21-10 lead. Deuce Vaughn scored a rushing touchdown to give the Wildcats a 28-17 lead. TCU would tie the game at 28 to send it to overtime.
In the overtime, Kansas State held TCU on a fourth-down stop and Ty Zentner drilled a 31-yard field goal for the win.
The Wildcats captured their first Big 12 title since 2012, their first victory in a Big 12 Championship Game since 2003.
