Emporia City Commissioners will be busy during their regular action and study meetings Wednesday morning.
As part of the action agenda, commissioners could approve a development agreement for the proposed Mahtropolis Rural Housing Incentive District project that is poised to bring a new 27-lot subdivision to the city. As part of the agreement, the city is poised to issue general obligation bonds of just over $1 million for sewer, water, street and drainage improvements as part of the project.
Commissioners may also approve a resolution for the intent to issue industrial revenue bonds in the amount of $3.5 million for Capitol Holdings, LLC. This is the first step in the eventual issuance of bonds for the construction of 12 residential duplexes within the city limits.
Additionally, commissioners will consider a resolution for the city’s Solid Waste Management Plan and an RFQ for the city’s 12th Ave. elevated water storage tank maintenance project.
During their study meeting commissioners will continue discussions on the Carnegie Library, receive an update on the city’s skate park update, review RFQ’s for a compensation study, and review proposed changes to the housing development and rural housing incentive district policy as well as potential permit and inspection fee increases.
The meetings will begin at 11 am inside of the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
