Foggy conditions are now expected areawide until lunchtime.
Initial dense fog advisories ending at 9 am have now been extended to noon for all area counties. Official visibility nas been down to an eighth of a mile outside Emporia. In town, visibility has been a block or less at times since around 4 am.

Thick fog has enveloped the KVOE listening area Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties until 9 am. Chase and Greenwood counties are in a separate advisory until noon.
Officially, visibility may be as low as a quarter-mile at times, although visibility in Emporia has been under a block in places since 4 am.
