Despite soupy weather conditions, downtown Emporia was busy yet again for the latest installment of Moonlight Madness, courtesy of Emporia Main Street.
Sweet Granada owner Kim Redeker says Moonlight Madness is good for customers — and it’s good for participating businesses like hers.
At AKA The Sports Fan, co-owner Cindy Binder says Moonlight Madness is when shoppers start picking up their activity before Christmas.
Trox Gallery and Gifts owner Kaila Mock says the extended hours offer more exposure for artists selling their wares.
Nearly 30 downtown businesses participated. Retailers were ready with deals from the official start at 5 pm, and in several cases they were ready as soon as they opened their doors Thursday morning. Thursday also had the second installment of carriage rides, with rides also coming the next two Thursdays.
Main Street’s Holiday Quarter Mania is Dec. 15 at The Station.
