After little to no measurable rainfall Thursday, light rain appears likely early Saturday.
The National Weather Service expects rain between midnight and sunrise Saturday. Areas north of a Matfield Green to Olpe to Lebo line will probably get a quarter-inch of rain or less. Areas south of that line could get up to half an inch of rain.
Saturday rainfall follows isolated reports of rainfall from Thursday:
*Emporia Municipal Airport: 0.03 inches
*1100 bock of Constitution: 0.05 inches
The KVOE studios had no measurable rainfall.
The weekend should be dry, sunny and calm, but an incoming winter storm could bring heavier rain totals to the area for Monday night through Tuesday morning, along with a chance of gusty winds and small hail. Rain chances come with the KVOE listening area still in moderate to extreme drought north to south.
