Last week’s fire at an Osage City house has been ruled as accidental after an investigation by the Office of Kansas State Fire Marshal.
Fire was reported at 403 Lakin shortly before 4 am. The resident, John Tramell, was alerted to the fire by his dog, and both got out of the home safely.
The fire was contained to the interior of the home. Unfortunately, Osage City Police says the house will be considered a total loss. The most likely cause, according to the Fire Marshal’s Office, is an unspecified electrical issue.
The American Red Cross is providing immediate help. Residents can bring replacement items like clothes, furnishings, funds or other aid to the Resource Center for Independent Living office at 1137 Laing. Residents can also go online through the Osage City Community Covenant Church to help with needs. Click here for the link.
