Emporia State senior offensive lineman Xavier Cason has been named a second-team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association.
Cason, who played left tackle for the Hornets, was a part of an offense that was tenth in the nation in sacks allowed., 11th in the nation in passing offense, and 25th in total offense.
Cason played in 42 games with 27 starts. He had 64.5 knockdowns, which led Emporia State, including a career-best 11.5 vs. Nebraska-Kearney.
Cason is the fifth Hornet to earn AFCA All-American honors. Justin Marcha was the last Hornet to earn AFCA All-American honors, which happened in 2017 when Marcha was a second-team honoree.
