Emporia’s First Church of the Nazarene will be putting on its fourth annual live nativity scene this weekend.
The nativity scene will take place Friday and Saturday at the church located at 2931 West 24th in Emporia. Pastor Paul Meinke says the nativity helps bring the true meaning of Christmas to life.
Those in attendance will have the option of driving or walking through the nativity scene. Church member Everett Weems says it will be a “intimate” experience for those in attendance.
The nativity will run from 6 pm to 9 pm each night. The live nativity is free to attend, however, free will canned food and monetary donations will be accepted for the Salvation Army of Emporia.
Residents will enter the church grounds off of Industrial and make their way on to 24th where Emporia Police will direct traffic. For more information find First Church of the Nazarene on Facebook.
