Local residents were treated to quite the show Friday night as legendary band Exile made their way onto the Emporia Granada stage.
The band was in town as part of their third annual Holidays and Hits tour which included performances of some of their most notable singles including their 1999 hit I Can’t Get Close Enough.
Formed in 1963, the band is currently celebrating its 59th year of existence. Since forming, Exile has recorded 13 studio albums, 10 number-one singles and has had their music featured in several films including Happy Gilmore, Man on the Moon and Zookeeper.
In 2018 the band was inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame. Exile is the second to last performance slated for the Granada for the 2022 calendar year.
The theatre will wrap up its slate of concerts for the year Sunday with the Emporia Municipal Band’s annual Christmas concert.
