The most recent graduates of Flint Hills Technical College received one final lesson on the importance of accountability during the college’s winter commencement ceremony Friday night.
Firefighter and FHTC graduate Richard Johnson delivered the evening’s commencement address on that very topic. Johnson says accountability is a vital value that breeds success in the professional world.
Johnson also spoke on the importance of goal setting. He says setting just one goal for one’s self can often mean the difference between stagnation and success.
Nearly 40 students received their various degrees and certificates as part of Friday’s ceremony. FHTC’s winter commencement coincided with Emporia State University’s graduate student commencement at White Auditorium.
Winter graduation activities will continue Saturday morning for ESU with the university’s undergraduate commencement ceremony. Activities will begin at 9 am inside White Auditorium with doors opening 90 minutes before the ceremony begins.
