A reported vehicle fire in north-central Lyon County turned out to be a less severe incident than first thought.
The fire was reported near Kansas Highway 99 and Road 310, two miles south of Admire, shortly before 11 am. Early indications are the vehicle had overheated and there was no actual fire.
Several fire agencies were called to respond, including Emporia, Allen-Admire, Miller and Reading.
