Lyon County residents have several options for paying their first-half property tax payments. They just don’t have a lot of time to do so.
Payments are due Tuesday for personal property, real estate, utilities, trucks with gross weights between 16,000-20,000 pounds and oil and gas. County Treasurer Sharon Gaede says this is typically a busy time for her staff — as you can imagine.
Residents need their statements, especially if they have several properties.
Online payments are increasingly popular over time, but residents can also pay by mail — if those payments are postmarked by Tuesday — and they can also go to the County Treasurer’s Office inside the Lyon County Courthouse. If you’re paying in person, the QLess online scheduling system does not apply. That is reserved to the Motor Vehicle Office.
