Sentencing is coming before Valentine’s Day for one woman accused of distributing drugs locally. Sentencing came Friday to a second woman in the same case.
On Friday, 43-year-old Chasity Stark pleaded no contest to one count of possessing methamphetamine as part of an agreement with prosecutors. All other counts in her case, including drug distribution and conspiracy to distribute drugs, were dismissed.
One of Stark’s co-defendants, Amanda Sibert, was sentenced Friday to 24 months in prison after she had pleaded guilty to possessing meth with intent to distribute as part of an agreement with the state back in September.
Co-defendant Jason Smith, meanwhile, remains charged with drug distribution, conspiracy to distribute drugs and both drug and paraphernalia possession. However, potential trial dates were canceled after Smith allegedly violated bond conditions.
Emporia Police says a suspicious odor call at 501 Neosho Apt. 1 back in mid-January led to the discovery of handguns, ammunition, ballistic vests, paraphernalia, marijuana, cocaine, meth and over $2,500 in cash.
