A rollover crash on the Kansas Turnpike Friday afternoon has left one person dead and another hospitalized.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol the accident occured at 4:20 pm at KTA mile marker 130.9 southbound. KHP says a 2004 Ford Explorer driven by 79-year-old Wayne Segenhagen of Wetmore was traveling in the vicinity when Segenhagen made an “evasive maneuver” to avoid another vehicle.
The Explorer then overcorrected and rolled several times. Segenhagen suffered fatal injuries in the crash while a passenger, 76-year-old Anna Segenhagen, was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka with suspected serious injuries.
Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
