A reported structure fire in Americus is out.
Fire crews from Americus and Emporia were called out to 502 Walnut shortly after 3 am. The fire was reported as out about 30 minutes after the initial call.
Lyon County Deputy Nathan Rankin says a sump pump caught fire and caused a lot of smoke inside the house. The fire was limited to the pump, so there was little to no fire damage inside the house.
No injuries were reported.
