The United Way of the Flint Hills has announced its 21 community partner agencies for the 2023 calendar year.
The United Way announced Tuesday it will be investing nearly $245,000 in direct grants to support a variety of community projects designed to help improve “education, health and the financial stability of Flint Hills residents.” United Way CEO Mickey Edwards says the agency’s allocations will be disbursed through three different grant programs.
*Emerging Needs grants – non-profit mini-grants that are responsive to community needs,
*Racial Equity projects – community-led projects to promote engagement and civic action to help strengthen racial equity.
*Community Partner grants – to support work within the areas of Helping Children & Youth Succeed, Supporting Vulnerable & Aging Populations, Education, Safety Net, and Strengthening and Supporting Families.
Edwards says splitting the allocations across three different grants allows the United Way to help the community address a range of pressing needs in both the long and short term.
Alongside the grant announcements, the agency has announced it will continue to utilize contributions to support in-house programming such as the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The 2023 Community Partners are as follows:
