SOS is nearing the end of its annual Holiday Drive and SOS Director Connie Cahoone says it has been a busy month for her and her staff.
Cahoone says it is always a rewarding opportunity to be able to offer assistance to those in need, especially during the holiday season. That being said, she says clients can sometimes be hesitant to accept that assistance at the start.
Cahoone says once families are willing to accept their help the response is always emotional and heartwarming.
The holiday drive again included the agency’s Angel Trees where residents were able to adopt families and provide them with gifts or donations and KVOE’s annual mitten tree drive. Numbers from the angel trees are not available, however, the mitten trees yielded more than 500 winter clothing donations.
Another main component of the holiday drive will wrap up Friday with the Kari’s Christmas Ring for Kids presentation at Kari’s Diamonds. KVOE will broadcast from that presentation at 2 pm.
