Potential trial dates are set for next spring in a Lyon County child sex abuse case.
Lyon County Judge Jeff Larson set possible trial start dates of March 20, March 27 or April 10 in the case of Larry Kemmerer. A status hearing is set for March 25 and no hearings are currently set until then.
Kemmerer is charged with one count of indecent liberties with a teenager between ages 14 and 16 after an alleged incident in late October. He’s also facing two counts of child endangerment and single counts of battery on law enforcement, interference with law enforcement and disorderly conduct. Kemmerer has pleaded not guilty to all counts.
Meanwhile, a man accused in Lyon County District Court of drug distribution has pleaded not guilty to that charge and others against him.
Eric Powers is accused of distributing between 100 and 1,000 “doseage units” of marijuana during an alleged incident Sept. 16. Powers is also accused of speeding, possessing drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle both without a valid license and without valid insurance. A marijuana possession count has been dismissed.
Following a pretrial and arraignment hearing this week, Judge Jeff Larson set potential trial start dates of March 20, March 27 or April 10. There will be a status hearing March 15.
