Along with generating more than $2,000, this year’s Kari’s Christmas for Kids fundraiser also generated an abundance of smiles and some joyful tears for the lucky winners Friday afternoon.
Mark Gibbons was the lucky winner of the grand prize .88 karat diamond ring set in white gold valued at $4,500. Gibbons immediately gifted it to his wife Nyla who was moved to tears by the surprise.
Nyla Gibbons says the moment was extra special as she has volunteered for SOS in the past.

This year’s fundraiser brought in a grand total of $2,100 to support SOS. SOS Director Connie Cahoone was “over the moon” after hearing the total.
Kari’s owner Kari Calhoun thanked the community for its unwavering support.
Proceeds will go to support “fill-in expenses” for SOS and it’s clients. The Christmas Ring fundraiser caps off a successful holiday drive which saw more than 120 individuals adopted.
