State funding is coming to several area counties for varying quality-of-life enhancements.
Kansas Lieutenant Governor and Commerce Secretary David Toland says the funding comes from the Strategic Economic Expansion and Development, or SEED, grant program.
*The Chase County Chamber of Commerce is receiving nearly $27,000 in Community Vibrancy funds for library work
*The Coffey County Library is receiving over $49,000
*The city of Eureka is receiving over $49,000 in Community Vibrancy funds for its library
*Little Huskies Childcare Center in Morris County is receiving over $24,000
*Wabaunsee County’s Office of Economic Development is receiving over $49,000 in Childcare and Community Vibrancy funds for library projects.
Project details have not been announced.
Funding is administered by the Kansas Department of Commerce and is offered through the Technology Enabled Fiduciary Financial Institutions Development and Expansion Fund. Projects must focus on economic development and revitalization efforts in four different categories — childcare and senior programming, community vibrancy, food retail and libraries.
