Damage estimates are not readily available, however, operations are back up and running full steam ahead for Hetlinger Developmental Services.
That’s according to Director Jill Burton who says both staff and clients were eager to get back into the building after an early morning water line failure led to standing water inside the facility when staff arrived Tuesday morning following Christmas. Burton says they are still working to “mitigate” moisture in the building, however, those efforts are not disrupting operations.
After the prolonged holiday break, Burton says both staff and clients were happy to return to normal Thursday.
It is still unclear when the failure actually occurred, however, staff noticed it as soon as they arrived to work Tuesday morning with the situation being reported to KVOE News shortly after 6:15 am. The break led to the facility being shut down for two days with operations resuming Thursday.
Burton says they are still communicating with insurance agents at this time and could not give a definite date for when full estimates may be in hand. At this time, there are no schedule adjustments planned due to the water line failure.
