It appears Marshalls will open its Emporia store at 24th and Industrial in less than a month.
The company website is now targeting 8-10 am Jan. 26 for grand opening activities.
Marshalls had targeted late November — just before Thanksgiving — for its local grand opening, but final construction processes have been slowed for months due to supply chain issues. As late as Wednesday, Emporia Pavilions lead developer Spencer Thomson had said the open date was still to be determined.
Marshalls offers clothing for all ages, as well as home decor, beauty items and gifts. It will join Ross Dress for Less and Shoe Dept Encore, both of which opened before the traditional holiday shopping season, and Hobby Lobby, which opened in 2017.
Thomson is planning at least one more wave of retail stores and several restaurants at the Pavilions. Announcements will not be made until next year.
