Upcoming milestones in the search for a new USD 252 Southern Lyon County superintendent have been announced by the district.
Board President Emily Darbyshire says there will be a special Board of Education meeting with Kansas Association of School Boards to gather input on “desired superintendent characteristics” by Feb. 2. That will be followed by a special board meeting with KASB to get a report from KASB’s screening committee by Feb. 17.
The interview schedule will be announced Feb. 21. From then to March 1, finalists will be announced individually before their respective interviews, followed by a special board meeting to select and announce the new superintendent.
The new superintendent will supplant Mike Argabright, who has led USD 252 since 2006 and was the Kansas School Superintendents Association’s Superintendent of the Year as announced late last year.
