One man accused in a Lyon County attempted murder case from this past fall has two hearings in Lyon County District Court on Wednesday, but only one is related to the alleged shooting.
Logan Dale Casteel has a preliminary hearing at 9 am before Judge Doug Jones, although that hearing may be rescheduled. There is a motion for continuance on the docket.
Casteel is accused of attempted first-degree murder, with an alternate count of aggravated battery, after allegedly shooting Justin Smith at 625 Road 160 on Oct. 17.
Casteel will return to Judge Jones’ courtroom at 2:30 pm for a separate hearing. Casteel faces single counts of methamphetamine and paraphernalia possession for an alleged incident a week after the alleged shooting.
