December home sales were up compared to November, but down from a year ago.
Sunflower Association of Realtors says Emporia had 31 homes sold last month, up from 29 in November but down from 54 units sold in December 2021. Homes are still selling quickly, with an average of 8 days on the market. And supply is still tight with less than a month’s worth of supply last month.
For the year, Emporia had 468 home sales. That was below the 540 from 2021 and the 478 from 2020.
Greater Lyon County had the same general trends on a monthly basis as 28 homes were sold outside the Emporia city limits in December, up from 22 in November but down from 49 in December 2021. Homes were on the market for 10 days on average and there is just over half-a-month’s worth of supply.
Greater Lyon County’s home sale total was 409 last year, down from 457 in 2021 but up slightly from 400 home sales in 2020.
