The Emporia High girls wrestling team finished fourth in the Newton Tournament of Champions Thursday.
Emporia High finished with 123 points behind team champion Washburn Rural, Garden City and Baldwin.
The Lady Spartans had six wrestlers place. Virginia Munoz took first at 135 pounds.
Katina Keosybounheuang finished second at 120. Azia Obregon was second at 115.
Kiana Flores-Delgado finished fourth at 170 and Heily Batres took fourth at 100. Kensley Medrano was sixth at 125.
Up next for the Lady Spartans is a dual with Ottawa Wednesday at Emporia High.
The Emporia High boys wrestling team begins wrestling in the Newton Tournament of Champions Friday.
Emporia High will be sending 12 wrestlers to the tournament, including sophomore Christian Trujillo who be wrestling at 157 pounds.
Matches begin at 9 a.m. both on Friday and Saturday in Newton.
