Country 101.7 FM’s Watch the Chiefs promotion moved into the second phase on Saturday.
Activities were held at Triad Leasing after a virtual event last year due to COVID-19. Mike Mercer, the Week 14 contestant, selected the Kansas City Chiefs as part of a blind draw.
The prize this year is a 55-inch 4K LED smart TV valued at over $700. Pat Engberg of Triad Leasing says it’s a fun promotion.
There were 17 qualifiers this year, a change from the longstanding number of 16 after the NFL added a regular-season game to teams’ schedules this year.
Throughout the NFL regular season, listeners to Country 101.7 FM had a chance to name two mystery players during each game. Successful participants then qualified for the chance to win the television and also received a free one-topping pizza from Gambino’s. With only 14 playoff teams this year, three contestants picked the dreaded “Better Luck Next Year” squares and were promptly eliminated.
