USD 251 North Lyon County is, financially speaking, in great shape with the back half of the academic year now underway.
According to USD 251 Superintendent Bob Blair, the district’s audit report, delivered during the board of education’s recent meeting last week, “went really well.” Blair adds a recent financial update showed the district’s budget is “very healthy” at this time.
Blair adds the capital outlay budget is in sterling standing with enough money on hand to cover all day-to-day improvements. With that in mind, Blair says the district is continuing its “proactive” approach to education by initiating a study that will look ahead to future updates for district facilities.
Blair says the district will be forming a strategic planning committee in the near future that will look over the facility study following its completion to help pinpoint the greatest areas of need.
In other business, the board also discussed repairs to the Northern Heights track and held two executive sessions.
