Fort Hays State defeated both the Emporia State women’s and men’s basketball teams Sunday.
Fort Hays won the women’s game 77-68.
Emporia State led 25-11 after the first quarter and held a 40-32 lead at halftime. Fort Hays would outscore the Lady Hornets 45-28 in the 2nd half. Emporia State Coach Toby Wynn said there was some improvement.
Tre’Zure Jobe scored a game-high 26 points to lead Emporia State. Victoria Price added 16 points.
The Lady Hornets fall to 9-10 for the season and 4-9 in MIAA play.
Fort Hays State won the men’s game 74-53. The Hornets trailed for all but 21 seconds.
Coach Craig Doty called it a frustrating game.
Sam Baker was the lone Emporia State player to score in double figures finishing with 12 points.
The Emporia State men are now 15-4 for the season and 9-4 in MIAA play.
the Emporia State women and men will host Northeastern State Wednesday night.
