Spartan Boxing picked up a pair of wins Sunday in Hutchinson.
Mercedes Silvey and Xavier Cheney both won their individual match bouts by unanimous decision. Cheney now improves to 2-1 as an amateur as Silvey improves to 4-1.
Sunday concluded a weekend’s worth of bouts in Hutchinson. Silvey and Junior Robles were both crowned state champions with victories in the Golden Gloves state tournament Saturday.
Robles also competed in a match bout Saturday losing via decision. Spartan Boxing will return to competition next month as Ryker Gorton competes at the Silver Gloves national tournament in Missouri.
